Halifax Will Have Its Holiday Parade of Lights After All

Halifax will be getting its 29th annual Holiday Parade of Lights after all.

When SaltWire, the parade’s longtime title sponsor, was sold earlier this year to a Toronto company, there was uncertainty about whether the parade would continue.

Fear not, however, because this year the parade will continue under the new title sponsorship of Nova Scotia Power and be presented by Eastlink at a new date and time — Sun. Dec 8th.

The parade typically attracts tens of thousands of spectators and will feature dozens of floats from community organizations, local businesses, and corporate partners.

If you’re planning to attend, it is recommended to bring non-perishable food items, toys, or cash donations that will be collected along the route to help support local charitable drives, including MOVE 100’s Christmas Toy Drive and Virgin Radio’s food drive benefiting Feed Nova Scotia.

In spite of all the pandemonium in the world, hopefully this parade will help everyone get into the holiday spirit.
