Where to Eat a Lobster Dinner in Halifax Right Now
There’s no denying that a major perk of living on the East Coast is the lobster. The incredibly delicious fresh lobster.
Here’s where to eat a lobster dinner in Halifax right now:
SHUCK SEAFOOD + RAW BAR
Shuck is located right downtown just a block away from the waterfront.
As their name suggests, they specialize in seafood and have a full roster of oysters, ceviches, and, of course, lobster ready to serve.
On their dinner menu their options include a Chilled Lobster and a Whole Lobster Dinner (both at market price) as well as a few other options like the East Coast Boil and Shuck Petite Platter that offer lobster alongside other varieties of seafood.
THE BARRINGTON STEAKHOUSE
A few short blocks away you can find The Barrington Steakhouse, a prime option if you’re looking to indulge in some surf and turf.
Along with offering a Lobster Tail enhancement that can be added to all steak options, and a creamy lobster bisque on their appetizer menu, The Barrington also offers a Steamed Lobster main at market price.
SALTY’S
Right on Halifax’s waterfront you can find Salty’s Restaurant that consists of an upstairs for upscale casual dining and a downstairs for a more casual vibe.
Upstairs, you can find Lobster Chowder and a full Nova Scotia Lobster Dinner, along with other options including a Surf and Turf and Salty’s Seafood Quattro, which features lobster alongside shrimp, scallop and salmon, and a Lobster Linguine.
Downstairs, you can find Lobster Chowder and a Lobster Roll on the menu, as well as a Steamed Lobster Dinner, all priced daily just as it is upstairs.
Unfortunately, Salty’s is closing on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 so hopefully you can get in there soon.
5 FISHERMEN
A seafood restaurant located in a heritage building, 5 Fishermen mixes contemporary cuisine with urban design.
Along with being a 2024 Open Table Diners’ Choice, they offer both a full Lobster Dinner and a Half Lobster Tail addition that can be added to any meal, including their steak offerings.
THE PRESS GANG
Going strong for 25 years in one of the city’s oldest historic stone structures from 1759, The Press Gang might know something about dining.
Along with offering a wide selection of both oysters and whisky, you can find a Nova Scotia Lobster Boil — essentially, a lobster dinner — and Henry’s Feast, which pairs a full 1.5 lb Nova Scotia lobster with a true spread that includes halibut, scallops, beef tenderloin, and even a lamb rack.
Hard to pick? Same. We might just have to visit them all asap.
